The development of this blog came about organically. The idea was born about a year and a half ago when my boss at work asked me to be her “food angel.” She had just had her second baby and was having a hard time finding the time to cook healthy, delicious meals for her family. She asked me because she knew that being a dietitian, I had a love of food and a knowledge of healthy ingredients. Because I had little experience cooking, I agreed to work as a personal chef for her family on a trial basis. This quickly developed into a weekly gig that has benefited me equally, if not more than her family. I have enjoyed expanding my horizons as a cook and having the opportunity to experiment with many new ingredients and recipes. (Note: I use recipes from a variety of cookbooks, food blogs and websites and have not yet developed into the type of cook that creates recipes on my own).
I do all of my cooking on Sundays. It usually takes the whole entire day but is worth it when I have meals already prepared for myself during the week. I found that people were always asking me what I was cooking so I started posting the names of my recipes on Facebook. From that, I got tons of requests for the actual recipes… so here I am. A food blog seemed inevitable. I was hesitant at first because of the time commitment. I read a lot of amazing food blogs and feel that I really don’t have the time to invest to write as descriptively or photograph my food as beautifully as the bloggers I admire do. So, I really just created this blog as a place to post my recipes. When I have time I will write about my experiences making these recipes. I may even include some photographs. But I am making no commitments. I might even have poor grammar. I tend to be pretty exhausted after 6-8 hours of cooking. So sorry it isn’t pretty but here goes….
I love your blog! Keep up the great work and the delicious recipes coming our way!
